Andrea is a graduate student in the Chappell lab, under the Biochemistry and Cell Biology program at Rice University. Her research uses gene editing systems to study the genetic regulation and secondary metabolism of the bacteria Streptomyces. Outside of the lab, she volunteers as the community outreach co-vice chair for the Outreach/Community Engagement Committee within the NRT and as the secretary for the Biochemistry and Cell Biology Graduate Student Association.
